The finest Fish ‘n’ Chips this side of the Atlantic is to be found at this little Greenwich Village gem. If it’s a nice day, sit outside with your vinegar covered chips and imagine the roar of the traffic are the waves at Southend. It’s as authentic as it gets.

It has everything you would expect from a great chippy. A medium cod will set you back $10 and a large chips (the real thing) is $7, add home-made mushey peas at $5.50 and you’ve got a reasonably priced meal (for NYC anyway). Wash it down with a ginger beer ($3,50), and, if you’re feeling exotic, or Scottish, they’ll do you a deep-fried Mars bar… Go on!
